20th November - The 0808 Evening Reception - Posted on 23rd Oct 2008
Well what a week it was! Thank you to everyone who came to the Festival to make it such a memorable occasion... even the sunshine turned up! We’ve had loads of positive feedback from the speakers who were so impressed by the attitude of the young people and their hunger for God’s Word. Those attending the event have also been heaping praise on everyone from the worship band to the stewards, the speakers to the coffee shop staff. Thank you to everyone who made the 0808 Festival an amazing time! The week of mission that followed did not disappoint either. Throughout the week stories of people being healed on the streets, projects having a positive impact in the communities across North London that they were serving and people becoming Christians though events or just one to one conversations. Then as we gathered for the Sunday night Celebration it was evident how it was not only communities who had been blessed but how the young people taking part had come back renewed. Despite the tiredness many felt after working so hard, there was a real sense that they were ready to see more transformation through taking their new found enthusiasm into their everyday situations. A big thank you to all the project hosts and team leaders for your vision and drive. So what’s next? Well, watch this space. Loads of you have been getting in contact with us, and if your response is anything to go by things will have to move up a gear. Give us a couple of weeks to get sorted and then we can update the 0808 site, print some new fliers and produce a DVD for next year. Then you can start getting the word out that in the summer of 2009 north London will be the place to be!  |
